Plaion has moved to clear up some of the chatter around the Neo Geo AES+. Since the company announced its team-up with SNK on the new system, fans have had plenty of practical questions. Plaion has now answered ten of the most common ones in an official FAQ video.
One of the biggest confirmations is about video output. The Neo Geo AES+ will include modern HDMI, but it will also keep an old-school AV connection. That AV option supports RGB, which should please players who still like the look and feel of classic display setups.
What Plaion Confirmed
- Every game will come with a manual, keeping the release close to the spirit of the original AES era.
- All titles are region-free, so they will work on any AES system, including original 1990s Neo Geo AES consoles from any region.
- Accessories made for the Neo Geo AES+ will also work with older AES hardware.
- Older AES controllers can be used with the Neo Geo AES+, so long-time owners will not have to leave their classic sticks behind.
Plaion also touched on the wireless Arcade Stick. Although it can be used wirelessly, it will come with a cable as well, giving players the option to plug it in and play wired. That is a useful nod to both convenience and the arcade-style habits many Neo Geo fans still prefer.

There is one answer collectors may not love. The white version of Metal Slug, bundled with the white anniversary edition of the Neo Geo AES+, will not be sold on its own. From Z-retro's view, the FAQ gives welcome clarity, even if that exclusive game variant may leave some fans wishing for a wider release.
