Nalua Studio is bringing a new game to Neo Geo with Necro Pop, an action platformer made from the ground up for SNK's much-loved classic hardware. The game mixes platforming with dungeon exploration, giving the old system another fresh release rather than a simple port or reissue.
Necro Pop will be available for both Neo Geo home AES and arcade MVS formats. It is Nalua Studio's second game for the console, following Vengeance Hunters, and continues the small but lively modern scene around new software for original Neo Geo players and collectors.
The developer describes Necro Pop as an all-new action platformer with dungeon exploration elements. Players guide Poppi, a ghost fighting an evil darkness called The Gloam, while searching for abilities, upgrades, secrets, and, most importantly, friends.

For Z-retro, Necro Pop is a good reminder that retro hardware is not only about preserving old favourites. New projects like this can sit beside the classics, as long as players know they are specialist releases with prices and formats aimed at a dedicated audience.
