Mina The Hollower Arrives On PS5 This Month
Mina the Hollower finally has a PS5 date, and the wait is almost over. After going gold late last month, Yacht Club Games has confirmed that the GBC-style action adventure will launch on 29 May. The game will be priced at $19.99, keeping it in a friendly spot for players curious about its moody, old-school charm.
This one has been on the radar for a long time. Yacht Club Games first announced Mina the Hollower back in 2022, and the project has moved through several delays since then. It began to come together toward the end of last year, which makes this release date feel like the final stretch after a long development road.
There has also been a little extra pressure around the launch. The Shovel Knight developer has said its studio may live or die on how well Mina the Hollower performs. That is a bold and unusually open thing to say, but the game has built plenty of interest thanks to its sharp pixel look, throwback structure, and familiar Yacht Club polish.
What The Game Is Promising
- A large world built with clean, pixel-perfect visuals.
- Action adventure gameplay with strange characters, hidden secrets, and dangerous bosses.
- A mix of exotic locations and dark spaces for Mina to push through.
- Music designed to stick with players, matching the game’s spooky handheld-era mood.

A timed PS Store demo was available earlier this year and made a strong impression, but it can no longer be downloaded or played. A permanent demo could still appear closer to release, though nothing has been confirmed. For Z-retro, Mina the Hollower looks like a careful modern nod to a beloved portable era: familiar in spirit, but still worth judging on how it plays when the full game lands.
