A Strong Spark Of Interest

PS5 fans seem very ready for an inFAMOUS comeback. In a recent poll with more than 3,000 responses, 82% of players asked said they would buy some kind of collection for the series. The loudest group, 61%, picked the most eager option when asked about a compilation featuring Sucker Punch’s two PS3 superhero adventures.

The cooler responses were much smaller. Only 3% said they had no interest in the series at all, while 8% said they would probably buy it later at a discount. That gives the rumored project a clear sign of support from the kind of PlayStation fans most likely to notice a remaster or remake in the first place.

The talk began after VGC writer Jordan Middler shared that he had heard about some kind of collection connected to Cole MacGrath. He also made clear that the information came from a single source. Then Sacred Symbols host Colin Moriarty spotted that an older Sucker Punch blog post had been removed. In that post, the Seattle studio had previously said it was not working on inFAMOUS.

There are a few reasons the idea has caught on. Longtime creative director Nate Fox has shown interest in making remasters, and right now there is no native way to play the original inFAMOUS or its sequel on PS5. For a series tied so closely to the PS3 era, a modern release would fill a real gap in PlayStation’s back catalog.

For now, this is still a rumor, not an announcement. The poll shows that interest is there, but the useful thing is to wait for confirmation, with attention now turning to next week’s State of Play to see whether Cole MacGrath is really about to light up PS5.
