A Return To Myrtana

THQ Nordic is continuing its revival of Piranha Bytes' fantasy RPG series with Gothic III Classic, now confirmed for Switch 2. The open-world action RPG first arrived back in 2006, and its next stop on Nintendo hardware is set for November 24, 2026.

The Switch 2 version is priced at 29.99€ or the matching regional equivalent. For players who enjoy older RPGs with rough edges, big choices, and that very mid-2000s PC adventure spirit, this release keeps the Gothic name moving forward on modern systems.

Gothic III Classic follows the nameless hero of Khorinis as rumors spread that he is heading for the mainland. His arrival brings both hope and fear, with people wondering whose side he will choose, who will face his anger, and who might earn his favor.

At the heart of the story is Myrtana, a world whose future can be shaped by the player's actions. The pitch is simple and dramatic: liberation or annihilation, with the fate of Gothic's world placed in your hands.

This announcement also follows the earlier releases of Gothic Classic and Gothic II Classic Complete on the original Switch. With the third game now lined up for Switch 2, Nintendo players are getting another chance to trace the series' old-school fantasy path in order.
