Captain Majima Has Arrived
Goro Majima, appearing here as Captain Majima, is now available in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds as a free racer. The character was set to arrive on 29th April 2026, and as of Thu 30th Apr 2026 at 4am, players have a fresh reminder that he can be added to the roster at no extra cost.
Majima comes from Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii, giving the racing lineup another playful Sega crossover. It is a fun bit of roster chaos in the best old-school mascot racer way, where familiar faces from very different corners of gaming can suddenly share the same starting grid.
This Week’s Event
- Sega is running a limited-time Captain Majima Festival during the week.
- Players can earn points toward special collaboration rewards, including titles and decals.
- The event also includes Point Up Chances, with decals, gadgets, and more tied to the festival rewards.
Captain Majima is not the first free DLC racer to join recently. Red, the Angry Bird representative, was added earlier in April 2026. The roster is due to keep expanding too, with Arle from Puyo Puyo planned to join in May 2026.
For anyone already racing through Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, this update gives the garage another reason to open back up. A free character, a short event, and a few collaboration items make this a neat little stop for players who enjoy Sega’s wider history mixing with Sonic’s trackside energy.
