Warnel Chawpiovs, also shortened to WC, has received its first homebrew release for PC and Nintendo Switch. The project has been in development for a few months, and this opening build is being shared even though it has not reached every goal the developer had in mind yet.
This is very much an early public version. The main feature that still needs the most attention is multiplayer, which is present but currently described as broken. Even so, the release is considered ready enough for players who want to try the game in its current state, especially on their own.
WC is a multi-platform homebrew card game based on the popular cooperative board game Marvel Champions. Its big idea is simple: let the player enjoy a card game while the software handles the rules. For anyone who likes tabletop card battles but gets tired of checking every rule interaction by hand, that is the useful part.
The game was made from the point of view of a solo Marvel Champions fan who wanted the computer to take over the heavy lifting. Marvel Champions can be fun alone, but its many rules can become a lot to manage. Warnel Chawpiovs tries to smooth that out by enforcing the rules inside the game instead of leaving every detail to the player.

Solo play is the main way to approach this first release. You can play alone with one hero, or run more than one hero by yourself. A multiplayer mode is also included, but players should treat it as experimental for now. If online play with friends is the priority, this build is not the most reliable option yet.
Getting Started
- Downloads are available as binaries and through the project’s GitHub page.
- The Nintendo Switch version requires a hacked Switch.
- On Switch, the Homebrew Menu should be launched in full speed mode, not applet mode.
- Full speed mode is reached by holding the Right Shoulder button, R, while starting a cartridge game.
- Once inside the game, choose “Sivgle Player,” select one hero and one villain, then launch the match.
The Switch version also comes with an important performance warning. The port is slow in its current form, and overclocking the console may make play more comfortable. That is not an ideal requirement, but it is the practical note attached to this early Switch build.
Support channels are limited for now. There is no dedicated forum or Discord server for Warnel Chawpiovs yet. Players can open issues on GitHub or contact the developer by email, but responses are not guaranteed. Free time and interest will shape which reports get attention.

There is still a long road ahead for WC. The developer expects rule enforcement bugs, crashes, and memory problems to be part of the current experience, and those are on the list of things to improve. More cards from the original game could also be added later. The long-term wish is clear: get multiplayer working in a more consistent way. For players who mainly want a smoother online Marvel Champions fan experience right now, Marvel Champions Digital Edition is mentioned as another unofficial fan game that already handles that side well.
