A Better Fit For The SSOne

Retro Gaming Cables is now offering an RGB plus composite video SCART cable made specifically for the SuperStation One. It is close in purpose to a Sega Saturn cable, but the SSOne uses a newer 10-pin MiniDIN connection. This version uses a connector that fits the console properly, including the right size for the port area.

The cable is listed as the RGB SSOne cable at retrorgb.link/SSOneSCART. For anyone setting up the console with SCART gear, the main appeal is simple: it avoids relying on a cable that is only almost right. In retro setups, small connector differences matter, especially when a system is moved around or plugged in often.

There is also a custom option from cable maker Eduart Misiraj, who makes similar SSOne cables by hand and can build them in the length you want. That is useful if your setup needs a short run, a longer reach, or if you live in Albania. The tradeoff is that handmade work from one person naturally cannot match the volume of a larger cable seller.

A shielding check was done with a screenshot from the first level of Super Mario World. The cable was connected through a RetroTINK 4K using a generic profile, with composite video used as sync. The result looked like a normal shielded analog cable, with no obvious interference added by that sync choice. A poorly shielded cable was also shown for comparison, making the difference easier to spot.

Z-retro’s view: this is a sensible, tidy accessory for SSOne owners who want the right connector and a standard analog video path. Custom cables still have their place, but an off-the-shelf option makes the setup easier for more people.
