Rocket Books has arrived with a first release that should catch the eye of Ridge Racer fans. The new independent UK publishing house comes from Andy Roberts, a veteran game developer and journalist, and its focus is video game-related publications.
A Ridge Racer Starting Line
For its debut, Rocket Books is bringing back One More Win, Andy Kelly's fanzine-style book devoted fully to Ridge Racer Type 4. First released last year, the book looks closely at a PlayStation racing classic that many fans still see as the high point of Namco's arcade racing series.
Roberts says the team was won over by One More Win, especially by the way Kelly pours his love for the game onto the page. When the chance came to publish a reprint, Rocket Books moved quickly.

What Rocket Books Wants To Make

The publisher's aim is not just to put out books about games, but to pair strong writing with careful design. Roberts describes Rocket Books as a place for unusual and engaging viewpoints from writers who care deeply about the medium.
That design-first approach fits neatly with a book about Ridge Racer Type 4, a game remembered not only for its racing, but also for its style, music, menus, and late-1990s confidence. One More Win seems to match that mood by treating a single game with fan-level attention and a polished print sensibility.
Rocket Books is already looking beyond its first release. Roberts says a second book is in development, and the company wants to hear from writers and designers who may suit future projects.

Why It Matters
Game history often lives in small, passionate projects before it reaches a wider shelf. By starting with One More Win, Rocket Books is putting its name beside a focused tribute to a beloved racer, while setting out a clear promise: thoughtful writing, strong presentation, and room for more stories from gaming's past.
