Elden Ring has been squeezed into many fan-made shapes, but this one feels like it came from a dusty drawer full of button-cell batteries. Lucas Cavanna, known online as Elepunto, has made a playable Elden Ring reimagining built around the spirit of Nintendo's Game & Watch.
The fan project is free to download now on itch.io. Its own description leans into the joke, presenting Elden Ring as though a 1989 portable Nintendo device was always its true home.
A Lands Between Pocket Version
This is not an attempt to shrink the full open-world action RPG into a tiny screen. The hardware idea would never allow that. Instead, Cavanna recasts From Software's game as a simple 2D LCD-style action game.
The closest reference point is The Legend of Zelda's 1989 Game & Watch spin-off, where action is broken into crisp screen positions, fixed lanes, and careful timing. It is a very different rhythm from roaming Limgrave, but that is part of the charm.

How It Plays

When a new game begins, the Tarnished appears in the upper-left part of the screen. The goal is to move right, dodge attacks from enemies below, and beat the guard standing in front of the next room.
Included In The Fan Game
- 11 locations, including familiar places such as Stormveil Castle, Raya Lucaria Academy, Caelid, and Leyndell Royal Capital.
- 22 enemy types, including Misbegotten, Monstrous Crows, and Candle enemies.
- A playable setup built around old LCD handheld limits rather than the open-world structure of the original game.
It is a playful fan demake rather than an official From Software release, but it sounds like a neat little curiosity for anyone who enjoys seeing modern games filtered through older machines. A developer playthrough is also available for players who want to see the tiny Tarnished in motion before downloading it.
