Zaxour has opened another round of Spring 2026 pre-orders for the CLD PD, a replacement power supply made for the Pioneer LaserActive CLD-A100.
This is a no-cut mod, which makes it especially appealing for owners who want a cleaner upgrade path for a rare piece of retro hardware.
The unit uses USB-PD at 20V and 5A, with a 100W requirement. That means a solid, high-quality adapter matters here, not just any spare charger.
It is not the cheapest option, but the pitch is clear: this is a premium part built around quality rather than cost-cutting. For older systems, that kind of power hardware can make a real difference.

Installation Notes
One recent install showed that Zaxour made the process as straightforward as possible, but the original factory ribbon cables can still be difficult to deal with. In that case, those cables seemed to be the source of the trouble.
That is an important distinction, because the reported issues were not blamed on the replacement PSU itself. It is simply part of working with electronics that are now more than 30 years old and were never built with this kind of lifespan in mind.
If your LaserActive has already been refurbished, picking one up as a spare could make sense. Still, there is also a practical argument for waiting until your original PSU starts acting up, or until you already need to open the system for other work, so you do not disturb those ribbon cables without a reason.
