Super Turrican is getting another moment in the spotlight, and this one should catch the eye of Super Famicom collectors. Columbus Circle is preparing a new Japanese cartridge release that puts Factor 5's 1993 run-and-gun shooter and its Director's Cut together in one package.
The publisher revealed the rerelease on April 28, 2026 through its social media accounts. The cartridge is planned for late July 2026 in Japan, giving the much-loved action game a fresh physical edition for original-style hardware fans.
Two Versions On One Cart
The headline feature is simple but welcome: the cart is expected to include both the original 1993 version of Super Turrican and the 2018 Director's Cut. That makes it a neat little time capsule, pairing the version many players remember with the later cut that restored a different view of the game.

For anyone catching up, the Director's Cut first appeared for the Analogue Super Nt. It later turned up as part of Strictly Limited Games's Turrican Anthology Vol. 1, and also received standalone aftermarket cartridge releases for NTSC and PAL players.
Price And Packaging
Columbus Circle's release is expected to cost 7,980 yen before tax. The package will also feature new artwork by Tetsuhiko "Han" Kikuchi, a former Konami and Treasure artist whose credits include several beloved retro titles.
Kikuchi Credits Mentioned
- Gunstar Heroes
- Guardian Heroes
- Radiant Silvergun

An Amazon Japan store page is already live. According to the listing details, people who preorder through the site can receive a Game Lab strategy guide as a bonus, while supplies and store conditions may apply.
For Z-retro readers who enjoy cartridges with a story behind them, this looks like a tidy release: a classic Factor 5 shooter, its later Director's Cut, new artwork, and a Japan-focused Super Famicom package arriving in one collector-friendly bundle.
