A fresh fan translation is now available for Ninku on the Sega Saturn. The project comes from Exxistance and is based on the anime and manga series, giving this lesser-known fighter a nice moment in the spotlight.

The game follows Fūsuke, a small frog-like hero with serious power from the Ninku school. In the story, he battles a group of evil corporations named after the animals of the Chinese Zodiac.

According to the source notes, this release arrived as a surprise drop on April 6, 2026. It was shared across several Discord communities and social media platforms rather than through a long public lead-up.

Ninku is described as a simple, easy-to-grasp fighting game. Its style is compared to the Yu Yu Hakusho game on 3DO, and it uses a drawn cel look to give each frame an animated feel.

English text is not essential for enjoying most of the game, but the translation still adds useful quality-of-life improvements. Exxistance outlined those changes on the project’s GitHub page.

The credits list Exxistance as the only named translator. The original source also notes that some AI may have been used in the translation process. Even if this was not one of the most requested projects, it still looks like a fun and quirky release for Saturn fans to check out.
