Arcades Come To The Park

Planet Coaster 2 has received another major free update from Frontier, and this one brings a properly old-school treat to the PS5 version. Players can now add video game arcades to their amusement parks, turning a corner of the midway into a bright little stop for guests who want a break from queues, coasters, and snack stands.

The new arcade feature includes official Atari games, giving the update a nice retro flavor without stepping outside the playful park-building mood. Guests can play the games and earn tickets, then trade those tickets for rewards if you have taken the extra step of building a prize counter. It is a small detail, but it makes the arcade feel like part of the park economy rather than just decoration.

Coaster And Ride Extras

The update is not only about arcade cabinets. Rollercoasters get some useful improvements too, including the option to switch coaster lights on or off. Frontier has also added track variations across a range of rides, giving builders more room to shape the look and feel of their park layouts.

There are more ready-made pieces to play with as well. The update adds 21 flat ride blueprints spread across different themes, so players have fresh ways to fill out their parks and customize each area. For PS5 builders, it is a free update with a clear hook: make the park a little more lively, a little more personal, and a little more arcade-era Atari.
